Siraj shines with the ball as RCB demolish KKR
Royal Challengers Bangalore easily defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday after Mohammad Siraj bowled a brilliant opening spell.
After Kolkata won the toss and elected to bat, right-arm fast bowler Siraj took 3 wickets for 8 runs in 4 overs with two maidens. This is the lowest score in the history of IPL playing full 20 overs without getting allout. The previous lowest score without getting allout was 92 by Kings XI Punjab against Chennai Super Kings in Durban in 2009.
Bangalore completed the target in 13.3 overs. Aaron Finch was dismissed for 16 off Ferguson. Devdutt Padikkal scored 25 runs off 17 balls with 3 fours. Gurkeerat Singh (21) and skipper Virat Kohli (18) remained unbeaten.
With the win, Bangalore has now climbed to the second position of the table with 14 points from 10 games. Kolkata is in fourth position with 10 points from the same number of game.
