Pulsar Sports Award to be organized on September 11

Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) is all set to organize the 14th edition of annual Pulsar Sports Award on September 11 at Nepal Academy Hall. The sports award features eight categories and the nominees and winners will be picked by a selection committee headed by NSJF Secretary Raju Tamang.

The eight categories are as follows:

  • Player of the Year Male
  • Player of the Year Female
  • Youth Player of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • People's Choice
  • Para-athlete of the Year
  • Special Award
  • Lifetime Achievement Award

Five nominees for the Peoples’ Choice award will also be announced separately. The winner of the Peoples’ Choice will be decided through SMS voting and Facebook likes.

The title spronsor for the sports award will be sponsored by Hansraj Hulaschand & Company Pvt Ltd. NSJF reveive Rs 1.9 million from the title sponsor for organizing this event.

Footballer Nawayug Shrestha and judoka Phupu Lhamu Khatri were the winners of Male and Female Player of the Year in last edition while footballer Anjan Bista had won the Youth category honour. Former national team footballer Bal Gopal Maharjan had won the Coach of the Year. Other winners last year included Sita Bhandari (para-athlete), Sri Ram Ranjitkar (lifetime achievement, football) and Lalit Krishna Shrestha (special award, football).
