Mohammad Irfan shocks the cricket world

Mohammad Irfan, the tall giant from Pakistan, has completely shocked the cricketing fraternity after his bowling performance in the Carribbean Premier League for the Barbados Tridents, against Chris Gayle's St Kitts & Nevis Partriots.

Who would have thought that 3 maiden overs could have been bowled in the quota of 4 overs in T20 cricket? Irfan Khan ended up with bowling 4 overs, that included 3 maidens and conceded just a mere 1 run. Moreover, he also sent the opening duo of STKNP, Chris Gayle and Evin Lewis for a duck and one run respectively.

Irfan now holds the world record for the most economical bowling spell in the history of T20 cricket. However, despite his brilliant performance, the team failed to defend the target of 147 runs, thanks to Brandon King, 60(49) and the finishers, Ben Cutting 29(21) and Tom Cooper 13(9). The sensational record can now be counted as one of the most unlikely records to be broken ever.

Besides, our fellow Nepalese Sandeep Lamichanne, who was a part of STKNP in the match, wasn't able to bowl the way he used to do before, as he was manhandled by the opposition batting. Sandeep ended his 4 overs spell picking no wickets but conceding 43 runs. Barbados Tridents were 31-2 in nine overs at one stage, and what happened later a miracle.
