Kohli steps down as India's Test Captain

Virat Kohli has announced to step down as the skipper of Indian Test Cricket team. Less than three months ago, he stepped down as limited overs captain of his national side.

The announcement came a day after India's 1-2 Test series defeat to South Africa. Kohli issued a statement on social media to make the announcement.

Kohli thanked the BCCI and his teammates for supporting him throughout his journey as Indian captain.

"I want to thank BCCI for giving me the opportunity to lead my country for such a long period of time and more importantly to all the teammates who bought into the vision for the team from day one and never gave up in any situation," he said.

Kohli led the Indian team in 68 test matches with 40 wins. Kohli's win percentage of 58 is the best among other Indian test captains including MS Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly.
