IPL 2020 : Mumbai beat Kolkata by 8 wickets
Quinton de Kock's unbeaten half-century helped Mumbai Indians beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday.
Mumbai have returned to the top of the points table with 12 points from 8 games with this win over Kolkata.
Kolkata, who won the toss and elected to bat at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, lost 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs to post a total of 148 runs. Pat Cummins scored 53 off 36 balls with five fours and two sixes for Kolkata. Skipper Eoin Morgan scored an important unbeaten innings of 39 off 29 balls.
Apart from Shubman Gill (21), no other batsmen except were able to score double figures. Rahul Chahar picked up 2 wickets for Mumbai Indians.
Chasing a target of 149 runs to win, Mumbai opener Quinton de Kock scored an unbeaten 78 off 44 balls with nine fours and three sixes. Skipper Rohit Sharma scored 35 runs while Hardik Pandya made 21 runs.
With the help of De Kock and Pandya's explosive batting till the last minute, Mumbai completed the target by losing 2 wickets in just 16.5 overs.
Kolkata are fourth in the table with eight points from eight games after this defeat.
