India legends win Road Safety World Series 2021

India Legends defeated Srilanka Legends by 14 runs in the final to win the Road Safety World Series 2021.

On the back of an allround performance by Yusuf Pathan, India posted 181/4 in their first innings after Srilanka won the toss and elected to field first. Yusuf Pathan scored an unbeaten 62 runs from 36 balls which included 4 fours and 5 sixes. Pathan added 85 runs for the fourth wicket with Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj was caught by Maharoof off Weeraratne for his 60 runs. Rangana Herath, Sanath Jayasuriya and Kaushalya Weeraratne picked up a wicket each for Srilanka Legends.

Chasing a target of 182 runs, Srilanka Legends got off to a good start as Dilshan and Jayasuriya added 62 runs for the first wicket from 7.2 overs. Skipper Dilshan made 18 ball 21 while Jayasuriya made 43 runs from 35 balls. Chinthaka Jayasinghe scored 30 ball 40 while Weeraratne scored a 15 ball 38. Pathan brothers Yusuf and Irfan shared 2 wickets each while Manpreet Gony and Munaf Patel picked up a wicket each for India Legends.

Yusuf Pathan was named Player of the Match for his match winning allround performance while Dilshan was named Player of the Series who finished as the top run scorer in the series with 271 runs.
