India Legends into the final of Road Safety World Series

Sachin Tendulkar led India Legends march onto the final of Road Safety World Series defeating West Indies Legends by 13 runs at Raipur on Wednesday.

West Indies Legends won the toss and elected to field first. India finished on 218/3 after 20 overs riding on a brilliant 42 ball 65 from skipper Sachin Tendulkar. Tendulkar hit 3 sixes and 6 fours in his innings. Opener Virender Sehwag and Tendulkar added 56 runs for the first wicket in 5.3 overs before Sehwag was caught and bowled by Tino Best for 17 ball 35. Yuvraj Singh(49) and Yusuf Pathan (37) provided the finishing touch while Mohammad Kaif scored 27 runs. Tino Best picked up 2 wickets while Ryan Austin bagged a wicket.

West Indies in reply lost opener William Perkins early for just 9 runs. Dwayne Smith and Narsingh Deonarine added 99 runs for the second wicket. Dwayne Smith made 63 runs from 36 balls with 2 sixes and 9 fours. Deonarine was runout after making a 44 ball 59 which included 5 fours and 2 sixes. Skipper Brian Lara played well for his 28 ball 46 but wasn’t enough to take his team to victory  line as West Indies Legends fell short of the target by 13 runs.
