Dramatic win for nepal, Sandeep picks 4 wickets
Nepal has defeated Namibia in a thrilling contest by 1 wicket in their first match of the World Cricket League Division 2. Nepal chased down the target of 139 runs with 1 wicket and 4 balls remaining.
Nepal required 16 runs off last 2 overs with the last pair of Basant Regmi and Sandeep Lamichhane. Basant hit a six in the 49th over and kept strike with him for the last over. With 9 runs required of the last over, Basant scored 2 runs in the first ball. Basant sliced the second ball down to third man beating diving fielder in the deep to make the scores level. A wide ball in then made sure Nepal came out victorious in this close contest.
Earlier, Nepal bowled well to restrict Namibia to 138 runs in the first inning. Sandeep Lamichhane was the star with the ball for Nepal as he finished with the figures of 4-18 with 2 maiden overs.
