Delhi climb to top of points table with Dhawan's century
Delhi Capitals climb to the top of points table inthe Indian Premier League (IPL) defeating Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets.
Delhi completed the target of 180 runs set by Chennai losing 5 wickets with one ball to spare. Opener Shikhar Dhawan remained unbeaten on 101 runs to lead the team to victory. Batting explosively, Axar Patel added unbeaten 21 runs for Delhi.
In the last over, Delhi needed 17 runs to win. Axar Patel hit three sixes in the last over off Ravindra Jadeja to give the team important points. Marcus Stoinis scored 24 runs and captain Shreyas Air scored 23 runs. Deepak Chahar took 2 wickets for Chennai. Sam Curran, Shardul Thakur and Dwayne Bravo shareda wicket each.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first at the Sharjah Cricket Ground, Chennai finished on 179/4 from their allotted 20 overs. Ambati Rayudu scored an unbeaten 45 and ShaneWatson scored 36 in Chennai's innings. Faf du Plessis was the top scorer with 58 runs. Rabindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 33 runs.
