Chitwan Tigers wins EPL title
Chitwan Tigers defeated Pokhara Rhinos by 4 wickets to lift the cup for 4th edition of Everest Premier League (EPL) on Saturday. Chitwan chased down a target of 112 runs from 15.5 overs with 4 wickets in hand to lift the title.
Chasing a low total, Chitwan did lose early wickets as they were once struggling at 20-3 from 4 overs. Bhim Sharki and Dilip Nath adde 54 runs for the fourth wicket to bring their team back in game. Dilip Nath was caught by Lokesh Bam off Kishor Mahato for 17 ball 18. Bhim however continued to score runs before getting out to Kishor. Bhim scored brilliant 63 runs from 45 balls which included 7 fours and 2 sixes.
Earlier, Chitwan won the toss and invited Pokhara to bat first. Pokhara finished on 111 from 17.5 overs with Asela Gunaratne top scoring for them with 34 runs. Opener Richard Levi scored 26 runs while skipper Binod Bhandari scored 22 runs for them. Kamal Singh Airee was pick of the bowlers for Chitwan as he finished with the figures of 4-20.
