Gujarat Lions (GL) won the toss and elected to bat first against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Saturday evening. Ishan Kishan played well for his 35 ball 48 with 2 sixes and 6 fours at the top of the order. Brendon McCullum (6), Suresh Raina (1), Aaron Finch(0) and Dinesh Karthik (2) were out cheaply. Little cames from lower order batsmen Ravindra Jadeja (28), James Faulkner (21) and Andrew Tye (25) helped Gujarat post a modest total of 153/9 from their 20 overs. Krunal Pandya was the pick of the bowlers for Mumbai Indians as he finished with the figures of 3-14 from his quota of 4 overs. Bumrah and Malinga picked up 2 wickets each while Harbhajan was economical for his 1 wicket.

Parthiv Patel was brilliant for his 44 ball 70 at the top of the order for Mumbai. Krunal Pandya was the second highest scorer for Mumbai with 29 runs as he was the last man to be dismissed. Mumbai required 11 runs from last over. Krunal hit Irfan Pathan for a six to start the last over. Mumbai then required 5 runs from 5 balls but courtesy to the brilliant fielding of Ravindra Jadeja to dismiss Bumrah and Krunal the match was tied.

Mumbai started with Butler and Pollard in the super over. Pollard scored 10 runs off 3 balls as he was out to Faulkner. Gujarat needed to score 12 runs in the super over to win the match. Bumrah started the over with a noball and then a wide. But remaining 4 balls yielded just 3 runs as Mumbai won the super over by 5 runs.
