Binod, Pawan and Lalit guide Nepal to a win over MCC
Nepal defeat Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) in second match of MCC's tour of Nepal in TU Cricket Ground. MCC had defeated nepali U19 team by 38 runs in the first match.
MCC won the toss and elected to bat first before getting bowled out for 201 runss in 39.5 overs. Nepal in reply, chased down a target of 202 runs in 37.3 overs with 5 wickets remaining.
MCC got off to a good start with both openers Will Rhodes and Billy Godleman scoring their half centuries. The duo added 73 runs for the first wicket from 10.4 overs. Nepal came back strong as Lalit Rajbanshi broke the partnership. MCC's innings collapsed from 107/2 to 201 allout. Lalit Rajbanshi and Pawan Sarraf picked up 4 wickets each while Karan KC and Avinash Bohara shared a wicket each.
Nepal in reply didn't get a good start. Nepal were once struggling at 136/5 before Binod Bhandari and Pawan Sarraf took the charge. Binod remained unbeaten on 52 while Pawan scored unbeaten 38 runs to take Nepal to victory. Sharad Vesawkar scored 24, Dipendra Singh Airee 23, Gyanendra Malla 10, Aarif Sheikh 23 and Ishan Pandey scored 4 runs.
