Anderson : First seamer in 600 wicket club
English bowler James Anderson became the first seamer to take 600 wickets in Test cricket. Anderson is the fourth bowler overall to join the list along with legendary spinnersMuttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble.
The 38 year old English seamer took the wicket of Pakistan captain Azhar Ali in the 5th day of the test match to complete the milestone. Anderson has taken 29 Test five-wicket hauls for England, including in the first innings of the current Test against Pakistan.
Andersonhas made it clear he has no immediate plans to retire.
"It feels amazing," Anderson told Sky Sports after play. "Went to bed last night not expecting to bowl a ball today, with the weather. But credit to the ground staff, they've been brilliant both here and Old Trafford."
"I'm still hungry to play the game and I think the frustration this week has been after one game the whispers that go around. I don't think that's really fair." said Anderson.
