Afghanistan Shafiqullah Shafaq scored unbeaten double ton in T20

The 27 years old wicket-keeper right-hand batsmanShafiqullah Shafaq of Afghanistan scored an unbeaten double century in a T20 game. Shafiqullah Shafaq has also represented Afghanistan Cricket Team since 2006.Shafiqullah, who has been a regular member in Afghanistan national side has represented them in the last three World T20s – 2012, 2014 and 2016. He featured in the ICC 50-over World Cup as well. The 27-year old is well known for his big hitting ability in the middle and lower order and had scored a 24-ball fifty in WT20 2014 against Hong Kong, to power his side to their maiden win in WT20 history. His fifty stood as an Afghan T20I record for the next two years.


Shafiqullah Shafaq played for the Khateez Cricket Academy in the ongoing tournament which allowed their team to set a huge total of 351 in 20 overs. The wicket-keeper batsman Shafiqullah Shafaq scored an unbeaten 214 runs of 71 balls with 21 sixes and 16 fours in a local tournament named Paragon Nangarhar Champion Trophy in Afghanistan against the Kabul Star Cricket Club team. Shafiqullah Shafaq got support from the other end by his younger brother Waheedullah Shafaq (right-hand batsman) who smashed 81 runs of just 31 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes. Waheedullah has also represented Afghanistan at the junior level and played for the A side.

In reply, the Kabul Star Cricket Club were allout for 107 runs and lost the match by huge 244 runs.
