Players to watch out in Cricket World Cup 2019 : Playing World Cup First Time

The 12th edition of Cricket World Cup hosted by England and Wales is all set to begin from 30 May. 10 teams will be competing against each other in a group stage. The top two teams from the group stage will qualify for the semifinals.

All teams have announced their squad for the world cup and we can expect tough competition looking at the teams. The hosts England looks good with home advantage in their favor. Australia as always find themselves in the favorites list. India and Pakistan can also be tough teams to beat this time as far as my views are concerned.

Lets put the predictions aside and look at some impact players who are playing world cup for the first time.

Kagiso Rabada (South Africa)

The South African pacer Kagiso Rabada was a key member in the Delhi Capitals squad in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). It was Rabada's 25 wickets with the ball that guided Delhi to playoffs in this season of IPL.

Rabada played 12 matches for Delhi finishing with 25 wickets second only to the purple cap holder Imran Tahir who picked up just one more.

Rabada's pace and consistency will hold the key for South Africa this world cup. It will be interesting to see how Rabada can utilize the assistance from pitches in England.

If South Africa has to remove that "Chokers" tag, this bowler has to deliver for them.

Jasprit Bumrah (India)

Jasprit Bumrah is a very well known name in international cricket. Bumrah is one of the best bowlers in limited overs if not the best at the moment.

Bumrah has done a brilliant job for his franchise Mumbai Indians in the recently concluded IPL. He was the Man of the Match in the finals and was excellent with his consistency throughout the tournament. I guess, he is the "Virat Kohli of Indian Bowling".

Bumrah has been brilliant with this yorkers especially in death overs. He was able to restrict some of the best finishers in world cricket name MS Dhoni and AB de Villiers in this IPL.

Bumrah was 5th in the list of highest wicket takers this season of IPL with 19 wickets in his name and an excellent economy of 6.63. Coming back with exceptional form and IPL win, he will be high on confidence and deliver for his team in the grand stage of world cricket.

Rashid Khan (Afghanistan)

This wonder kid from Afghanistan might have finished 9th in the wicket taker list in IPL but was far better with his leg spin. Not only among the first time world cup players, he is one of the players to watch out for this tournament for me.

His experience of playing T20 tournaments around the globe will surely boost the confidence in Afghanistan team. Rashid has picked up 123 wickets from 56 ODI matches he has played so far.

Hardik Pandya (India)

This hard hitting allrounder from India was simply outstanding with the bat throughout the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). He was one of the key performers for the champion side Mumbai Indians to lift the trophy.

His ability to clear boundaries with mighty swings will be tested in English conditions. We all have seen his ability with bat but he is equally handy with his bowling and fielding contributions.

He is coming back from a great run of form hitting as he scored 402 runs from 16 matches. It was not the amount of runs that guided his team to yet another IPL trophy win but the way he finished innings with flurry of fours and sixes in the death overs. with an outstanding strike rate of 191.42 in this season of IPL. India will be hoping similar contribution from him in the national jersey as well.
