Match Prediction

Looking at the momentum and form going into the match, Mumbai Indians seems to be the favorites by long way. The defending champions seem to have checked all boxed including batting, bowling and fielding too. KKR hasn't had a consistent run throughout the season.

Mumbai will definitely start the game as favorites with almost all of their players contributing. KKR will have to play far better than what they've been playing recently if they want to overcome the mighty Mumbai Indians.

The defending champions Mumbai Indians are looking more dangerous as the tournament is progressing. Mumbai have 5 wins from 7 matches they've played so far and have 4 back to back win from their recent matches. The most important positive aspect for Mumbai is that they have new hero in every match. Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard all have played some brilliant knocks.

The bowling also looks solid with the dangerous trio of Trent Boult, James Pattinson and Jasprit Bumrah. The Mumbai side looks on a good track to defend their title. I am not expecting any changes in the playing eleven for Mumbai from their previous match as they have got a pretty balanced side and wont want to alter their winning combination too.

Kolkata on the other hand are coming back after a humiliating defeat against Bangalore in their previous match. With 4 wins from 7 matches so far, Kolkata still have strong chance for the playoffs. A win over defending champions will definetely boost the morale of the KKR side.

As fas as the playing eleven for KKR is concerned, they might look to give yet another change for Tom Banton at the top of the order as they had to leave out Sunil Narine following the illegal bowling action warning after their match against Punjab.

The batting lineup for KKR seems so inconsistent not only in terms of performance but in terms of stability. They've tried out a number of combinations till now and are still to find a stable lineup. They started with Narine at opening, followed by Tripathi at opening. A lot of criticism also arised for batting Eoin Morgan too low in the batting order. The bat of Andre Russell hasn't fired yet for Kolkata. Overall, there are quite a few issues to be addressed for KKR.
