Match Prediction

The battle between Kolkata and Chennai somewhat seems an evenly placed one. Chennai coming back after a break through win over Punjab having lost 3 consecutive matches before that. Kolkata will want to forget the loss against Delhi and rethink their tactics.

This looks a 50-50 contest when KKR and CSK take field against each other on Wednesday at Abu Dhabi. Personally, I am backing Kolkata to win this one. Apart from du Plessis, Chennai's batsmen were struggling big time with the bat before previous match. Dhoni's captaincy has been under some cricitism too. Chennai have more to think and plan as compared to KKR at the moment.

Player to Watch Out : Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson

Kolkata hasn't had the best of the start for this year's IPL. KKR lost their first game against Mumbai and then won 2 back to back matches followed by a loss against Delhi. There are few tactics that KKR needs to work on.

The usage of Sunil Narine as opener has failed miserably. Maybe the team needs to drop this idea of unorthodox Narine hitting at top order and get back to the standard process. Shubman Gill and Nitish Rana have done reasonably well. There has been some question marks over the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik though. Karthik isn't contributing with the bat either. And his decision of batting Eoin Morgan low in batting order is getting serious attention now.

Chennai on the other hand, eventually ended their losing streak with a 10 wicket victory over Punjab. An unbeaten 181 runs opening partnership between Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson ensured the win for CSK. Watson's bat was quiet until that match and Watson getting into runs is a huge boost for the struggling CSK's batting lineup. Faf has been the standout performer with the bat for CSK so far and the team is expecting him to continue his good run of form throughout this season if CSK are to qualify for the playoffs.

Deepak Chahar and Sam Curran are bowling good for CSK. The inclusion of Dwayne Bravo provides more options to skipper Dhoni as far as the bowling attack is concerned. But we all know, its not the same Bravo that we were used to watching a few years back. Also, all eyes will be on the man himself MS Dhoni both in terms of his captainy and batting.
