The 16th match of the ongoing 13th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to be played between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Sharjah on Saturday.

Kolkata has bounced back really well winning 2 back to back matches after getting defeated by Mumbai in the first match. On contrary to that, Delhi lost to Hyderabad after winning their first 2 matches.

Delhi side will be happy that the match is being played at Sharjah. Sharjah is the same venue where Delhi won their initial 2 matches. Delhi's batting has been decent. However, I feel their top order hasn't played that impactful long innings apart from Prithvi Shaw's 64 against Chennai. Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and even Rishabh Pant has scored 20s and 30s but haven't been able to convert it into a big one.

Kagiso Rabada has been the standout performer with the ball for Delhi. With 7 wickets to his name so far in this season, he is only next to Mohammad Shami (8 wickets) in the Purple Cap race. And who can forget his 2 run over in Super Over against Punjab in their first match. Ravichandran Ashwin is expected to be back for Delhi but it will be interesting to see who will make way for him. Most probably it might be Amit Mishra who may be benched in case Ashwin is fit to play.

Kolkata have registerd 2 wins from 3 matches despite their prime players not firing yet. The West Indian duo of Sunil Narine and Andre Russell haven't yet shown their best. Guys like Shubman Gill, Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti have been good for the KKR side. Someone like Eoin Morgan or Andre Russell who can clear boundaries more often will hold a key role when the match is played in Sharjah's smaller boundaries. I am expecting some big runs from at least one of these two men.

Sunil Narine's batting is something I feel KKR should give a thought now. Narine's unorthodox hitting at the top of the order worked brilliantly for KKR initially. Since last season, Narine as an opener has been a disappointment to be honest. At the moment, oppositions have clear plans against Narine with short deliveries and Narine seems to have to answer for that. I will be interested to see how long will Karthik continue with Narine at the top.
