Young Nepali cricketer to play cricket in New Zealand

Young Nepali cricketer Avinav Yadav is all set to play cricket in New Zealand. Avinav will play for Green Island Cricket Club in the upcoming 2022/2023 club cricket season that starts from October 2022 and ends in March 2023.

Avinav will be representing Green Island for Dunedin Senior Cricket Competition in which 6 teams will be competiting against each other. The 6 teams are scheduled to play a mixture of Declaration cricket, 50 over cricket and T20s. The matches will be played on Saturdays from 29th October 2022 till the end of March 2023. 

Green Island Cricket Club is a cricket club from New Zealand which has won Dunedin Senior Cricket competition 15 times. The team was New Zealand Club Champions in 1999, 2000, 2002, 2005 and 2006. The club was also awarded Otago Sports Team of the Year in 2006. 

Avinav was a part of Kathmandu Golden’s squad in Dhangadhi Premier League (DPL), a popular franchise based T20 tournament in Nepal. Besides, Avinav has showcased his abilities in tournaments like Birgunj Premier League, College Cricket League, Khukuri Cup, U19 Nexus Cup and has also been included in 32-men camp for U19 National team in 2018.
