Tale of a Mohammad SirajOctober 3, 2022 | Rahul Shriwastav
Hyderabad is where Siraj, the son of an auto driver, was born. From a young age, he had a deep love for cricket. However, he was unable to enrol at a cricket academy due to a lack of funds, unlike other lucky cricketers who were raised in such an academic setting. Father of Siraj was an auto driver who has spent 30 years doing the work that God has given him. Previously, his father's paycheck was the only source of money for the entire family.
Because he had little interest in studying, he turned his passion into his profession rather than his profession into his passion. Yes, he has had a deep affinity for cricket since he was young. He used to use a tennis ball to play gully cricket up until 2014. He was only able to play tennis ball cricket due to a lack of money.
Because of his devotion and hard effort, he was chosen for the local cricket team in Hyderabad, which changed his life and marked a turning point in his career.
Now, his career was wonderfully flipped when he was given the chance to participate in one Ranji match in the years 2015–2016, even though he was able to grab a wicket. At this point, he realized he needed to sharpen his bowling focus a bit. Yes, that was successful.
He was granted another chance in the following Ranji Trophy season because of his tenacity and dedication, and by God's grace and hard effort, he demonstrated his value by taking more than 40 wickets. After establishing his value in the Ranji Trophy, Hyderabad's IPL team, "Sunrisers," expressed interest in him in 2017. Yes, he was purchased for a whopping 2.6 crores, and he was allowed to play for Sunrisers alongside the most lethal death bowler in the world, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and a left-arm pacer named "Ashish Nehra." Additionally, the fact that he was being led by David Warner and sharing a dressing room with his tutor VVS Laxman is a major stroke of luck.
Above all the biggest moment in Siraj's career was when he was bought by RCB in the 2018 Mega Auction. Siraj got the opportunity to share the dressing room along with the greats like AB, Virat and more. Siraj didn't have a good start with RCB and was on/off from the team but the 2020 IPL changed his fortune, amidst second half of the 2020 IPL saw the rise of deadly Siraj and he soon became the major bowler for RCB. Following his 2020 IPL success, Siraj has a brilliant 2021 ipl as well and he was the leader of the attack.
Siraj got an international call and when Siraj was in Australia for the Border-Gavaskar trophy, an unfortunate moment happened to him as his father passed away. But Siraj was there to write the history and he wrote the history by breaching the Kangaroo's fortress "Gabba".
Every individual knows, behind the success of Siraj there is one man who backed his lot and it was none other than his then national team and Ipl team Skipper "Virat Kohli". Siraj always gives credit to Virat for his support and belief in him.
Siraj was retained by RCB for 2022 IPL for around 7.5 cr. Siraj's Journey started from 5k and now he is earning 7.5 cr from RCB alone.
At some time, every path to success must pass through Hard Work Boulevard.
He was another pure source of inspiration.
