Real Madrid and their love story with UCL

July 24, 2022 | Rahul Shriwastav

Real Madrid is a wreck with 14 UCL championships on the table, and their dominance in UCL is stunning.

Since Real Madrid won the Champions League in 2014 against Atletico Madrid, the silverware has seemed to flow through their blood, affecting their brains and making them addicted to it regardless of how good or horrible they are. They simply want it more.

Their first objective is UCL; these players are champions, and even if you put a fakeUCL trophy in front of them, they'll give it they're all to win.

Real Madrid's domination in the UCL is detrimental to the competition as a whole because Real Madrid is inextricably linked to the cup.

Kyle Mbappe of PSG underestimated Madrid and said ''We don't need two legs to remove eliminate,' but things went wrong for him and his club, and it was Real Madrid who didn't want two legs to knock them out of the competition." Real Madrid is the name.

"Real Madrid demonstrated the difference between excellent players and Champions," said Kylian Mbappe after their existence.

Ronaldo's role in Real Madrid's UCL glory

Some refer to Ronaldo as 'Mr Champions League' because of his unequalled success in the league at both the club and individual levels.

He earned five Champions League titles, the first with Manchester United in 2007-08 and four more with Real Madrid during his career-defining spell there.

Ronaldo had to wait until 2013-14, while playing for Real Madrid, to win the trophy for the second time, with three more trophies added to his collection in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

He was a giant and his passion for UCL was seen when the camera spotted him singing the UCL anthem after completion of the game of another league. He has made over 180 appearances in the Champions League, with 140 goals and counting.

He demolishes teams like Bayern, PSG, and Juventus with ease in UCL, he was a beast and a major reason behind Real Madrid's UCL glory and winning three consecutive UCL.

Real Madrid 2021/22 UCL trophy

Their Never Say Die attitude and mastering the art of doing well in the Champions League without hitting the top form. Real Madrid was on struggling ends against all the teams in knockouts after the first leg but their never say die attitude made them overcome that lagging and their skipper Karim Benzema lead his team from the front and rewrite the history of an epic comeback.

Benzema's first victim was PSG, Real Madrid who was trailing in the first leg and also in 1st of the second league then come the men Benzema who destroyed PSG's run with a 17-minute hattrick.

Benzema's next victim was Chelsea, whose story is also the same as PSG. Benzema became the only player to score back-to-back champions league hattrick in Knockouts after his former teammate CR7.

Real Madrid stunned City in the last few minutes and set them exit and then finally lifts a trophy after surpassing Liverpool 1-0 in the final. Their 14th UCL trophy.

This Real Madrid team do lack the big names but this team was balanced and everyone knows their role perfectly.

Moral

No matter how poorly they do in La Liga, they cannot be written off in the Champions League. Real Madrid achieved a hat-trick of Uefa Champions League trophies, most likely because they were more determined to win them than any other club during those three years. And clearly, because they had one of this generation's best players functioning at his peak.

Real Madrid players have separate passions for the Champions League which makes them different from others. They have different hunger and they can go to any extent to win it.

The next season is yet to start and once again they are being ranked below as a favourite but that doesn't matter for Real Madrid never forget the fact "Don't write Real Madrid off in UCL".
