Nepal lost to Oman by 18 runs in their first match of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 match at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. Chasing a target of 198, Nepal were bowled out for 179 runs in 47th over as Oman came out vicgtorious.

Sharad Vesawkar was the top scorer for Nepal with 55 runs. Coming in at number 3, Sharad faced 108 deliveries and scored 5 fours. He added 62 runs with Dipendra Singh Airee for the third wicket after Nepal lost Gyanendra Malla and Paras Khadka early. Nepal were once struggling at 4/2.

Dipendra made 36 runs from 57 balls which included 5 fours and a six. Towards the end of the innings, Sandeep Lamichhane came and blasted some big hits. Sandeep scored 3 fours and a six before getting caught by Khawal Ali off Zeeshan Maqsood.

Earlier, Oman finished on 197/9 from their allotted 50 overs. Player of the MatchMohammad Nadeemremained unbeaten on 69 runs which included 5 fours and 2 sixes. Nadeem played a vital role in Oman's recovery from 57-5.

Karan KC picked up 4 wickets for Nepal while debutant Sushan Bhari was brilliant as he finished with excellent figures of 3-14 from his quota of 10 overs.
