England chasing 398 to win the first test
Australia have set a target of 398 runs for England to win the first test match of the ongoing series. Steve Smith continued his excellence in the longer format of the game as he completed his 25th Test Century as Australia declared at 487/7.
Steve Smith along with Mathew Wade scored century in the second innings. Smith made 142 while Wade scored 110 runs. Travis Head completed his half century before getting out for 51 runs. Tim Paine made 34 runs. James Pattinson and Pat Cummins remained unbeaten on 47 and 26 runs respectively.
England have already started the chase as they have scored 13 runs from 7 overs without losing any wicket. Burns (7*) and Jason Roy (6*) will be starting the innings for England in the last day.
